Objectives

The purpose of this course is to improve students’ ability to give presentations and to be clear, especially as regards pronunciation. During the course students practise giving presentations and asking and answering questions. Students receive feedback regarding the language used in their presentation and about how the information is presented.

NB: the completion of this course DOES NOT give any credits

Prerequisite

Students should already have a B2 level of English.

Program

What makes a good/bad presentation – discussion and examples.
How to be easy to understand.
Student presentations, followed by feedback on presentation skills and on use of grammar,
vocabulary and pronunciation.

After an introductory session on presentation skills, most of the course consists of student presentations and follow up discussion of the presentations seen. Language-related feedback is given by the teacher. Exercises to work on specific language-related issues may be suggested, or may be incorporated into the class if appropriate.

Students are required to complete at least one presentation that is generally comprehensible to the group
