Tutor and advisor: Who is going to be and which are his/her duties?
A tutor will follow the doctoral student's study activity during the first six months of his/her PhD and he/she will be assigned by the Doctoral School Committee. Within the month of April of the first year of study the doctoral student should present the request for assignment of an advisor to the Doctoral School Committee.

Student's career: what is it?
The Student's career is an information system which monitors your course of studies. Your tutor and advisor, the School Secretariat and yourself will record all carried out activities. To access your Student's career data you will need the University of Trento credentials.
Italian courses: who does it?
CLA organizes Italian intensive and extensive language courses.
Official language of the Doctoral program
English is the official language of the programme. Courses, written and examinations, as well as the theses are carried out in English. English is the language of Academic everyday life.
Student representatives: who are they?
Every two years the students elect two representatives. Their responsibilities are to speak on behalf of all PhD students and to communicate to them matters that are related to the IECS Doctoral School.
PhD career and procedures
All activities concerning the PhD career: educational and research activities, examinations, admission to the following years are available here. Do I need any authorization to submit a paper to a conference or a workshop?
Before submitting a paper the student must obtain an informal authorization from their tutor or advisor on the submission.
How can I get those papers not available for download from UNITN library?
Some papers (e.g. from Springer's LNCS) are not available for download from UNITN library.
If a paper you would like to download is not available via university subscriptions (using the library catalogues) then you should contact the authors asking if they could send you a copy.
