Admission requirements and topics

For admission requirements and application procedure please check the call in the "Downloads" area on the right.

Only the Italian version of the call is legally binding.

In order to be admitted in the School applicants must be in possess of a Academic title which grants access to a third level education programme (PhD) in the country it has been issued.

Deadline: May 27, 2015 - at 04.00 PM (Italian time)

Application for the PhD program is made by completing the online process, and it involves two phases:

 

  1. registry on the University's website at https://webapps.unitn.it/Registration/en/Home by entering the information requested. If the registration has been correctly submitted, within a maximum of 2 working days applicants will receive a username and password by email, these being credentials needed in order to utilize the UNITN's online services;
  2. compilation of the application , complete with the requested attachments in electronic format, available at https://webapps.unitn.it/Apply/en/Web/Home/dott.

The application shall be subject to the payment of an application fee - non-refundable - amounting to € 15 to be paid by credit card, according to the instructions given in the appropriate section of the online application.

The administration strongly recommends that candidates ensure that they have received the notification email confirming the definitive completion of the application procedure.
Candidates are asked not to wait until the last days prior to the deadline before submitting their applications.

During the filling out of the online application, applicants must choose which research area/s (max. 2, specifying the order of preference)  and no more than two project specific grants (reserved topic scholarships) within each research area they are interested to apply for.   

If a applicant is short-listed in more than one curriculum, he/she will be enrolled in the research area that was selected as first choice in the online application and deleted from the other ranking.

Applicants who have submitted the application by the deadline may also opt for any scholarships on reserved topics (additional reserved topic scholarships) that will be made available AFTER the publication of the present call by using the the additional online application that will be available at https://webapps.unitn.it/Apply/en/Web/Home/dott only from June 4 to June 8, 2015, at 04.00 PM (GMT +2).
To access the additional online application applicants must use the same credentials as for the main application.
